Wineries Tour
A nice flat 33 km (or with a few extra side excursions a 47 km) cycle loop that takes you around 11 award winning cellar doors dotted around Hastings.

Starting on the Iway cycle path heading north out of town you loop starts on Wilson Road- going in a clockwise direction is recommended - just past the Golf course you can either go straight ahead for 3 cellar doors down Maraekakaho Rd, returning back down this road the trail continues north along Ngatarawa Road (short deviations to down western roads take you there an back to more Cellar Doors). Head east at the end of Ngatarawa Road along State highway 6 (staying on the cycle path) until you meet the Ngaruroro River path section of the trail which you follow along the scenic river back along till you meet Wilson road and head along back to where you started from.

FOOD AND DRINK
Grab a comfortable bike to cruise the city cycle lanes and stop by many great eating the drinking establishments along the way:

  • Head to the local Farmers Market (Sunday only) for breakfast,
  • World famous Rush Munro Icecream
  • A 35km loop that could take a day if you choose to stop at many places along the way. Pick up a local map from the bike shop or information centre in town.

Explore Cape Kidnappers Coast
Head out of Havelock north down the river and on toward Haumoana & Clifton stopping along the way at the many wineries and to take in the great ocean views. Ideal for an afternoon pedal 15 - 18 km. Ideally pick up a map from one of the local bike shops or information centre.

Puketapu Loop
Starting from the coast at Awatoto or inland at Taradale the Puketapu Loop offers a charming country pub stop, restaurant and general store, parks, nearby winery and an historic church.

Cycle along the beach front and down the Tutaekuri River to the Puketapu Pub, returning on the opposite side of the river then exploring the inland parts of Napier before again riding up the side of the estuary, this time the Ahuriri estuary, finish with a beach front cruise back to where you started.
