Park either at the very bottom of the hill (Chambers Walk carpark end of Tauroa Rd) to start with a large pedal up or park mid way up the Te Mata Peak Road at the main gates (you'll see the new toilet and parking facilities being built).

Te Mata Park have and are developing mountain biking trails for bikers of all levels – With a range of Grade 2 (easy) right through to the steep and fast Grade 6 (extreme) downhill tracks. The majority of trails are bike specific allowing bikers to be for the most part separated from walkers, any crossing of walking / biking trails is marshaled by safety crossing barriers.

Ngati Hori | Grade 6 | 550m | Very Difficult | Starts near the top |
