Central Plateau Cycles - Taupo - Terms & Conditions



Your booking is initially a request, subject to availability. Your booking is not confirmed until the Equipment Provider CPC - Taupo has accepted, to be made within 24 hours after which the booking will be automatically declared declined. You will receive a separate email confirmation if the booking is accepted, including a unique booking ID and your request details. If your booking is declined, either by the business or automatically after 24 hours, you will receive an email to confirm this. Your credit card will only be charged once the booking is accepted; however we do take a pre-authorisation, via our payment processing company Stripe, and in some instances this may be shown temporarily on your credit card.

Cancellations and Refunds

A full or partial refund may be returned to the End User if the End User cancels the booking via the Platform.
For this booking the cancellation policy is Flexible:
More than 1 day / 24 hours prior to the start of the booking = 100% refund;
Less than 1 day / 24 hours prior to the start of the booking = no refund. Note: Cancellation is calculated from the difference between the time of notification and the time of pick-up or start of the booking.

Flexibility for weather, or any other reason

The End User is able to request rescheduling to another time or day at no cost. Rescheduling is subject to availability, liaise directly with the Equipment Provider to arrange.  Request must be given before the start-time of a booking. The start date must be rescheduled within 90 days after the original booking start date.

Operator Cancellations

Due to the nature of many of the activities and the environment they are conducted within, Equipment Providers at times will make decisions to cancel or postpone any activity or experience based on a lack of sufficient numbers, weather, genuine safety concerns or any other events or circumstances that prevent operation. If cancelled, the End User will receive the gross amount refunded in full within 14 days.

Equipment damage or loss

The End User is responsible for repair or replacement costs in cases of damage or loss of any item. This includes but is not limited to damage to equipment and accessories. The Equipment Provider reserves the right to charge repair or replacement. The Equipment Provider shall request in writing Leap to process the requested amount from the End User using the credit card used for Booking. Leap would need a written certification from the Equipment Provider stating the basis of entitlement to payment and confirming that the End User has been notified. For this reason, Leap reserves the right to charge to the End Users credit card within 30days from the end of the booking. The credit card details are held until this time by Stripe, our payment provider.
Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, we make use of best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe.

Hire period

Any extension of the hire period must be agreed in advance of the extension. If the Equipment Provider accepts an extension then additional charges will be processed. Failure to notify entitles the Equipment Provider to make discretionary charges, not more than the value of a full day of the relevant equipment per day of extension.


CPC - Taupo makes all arrangements for all activities and services they provide on the condition that it shall not be liable for any sickness, injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned, either directly or indirectly, by reason of any defect in any equipment, vehicle or vessel, by weather, by any other cause, or through acts of default of a company or person engaged in conveying the passengers, or in carrying out arrangements for these activities. For national and international customers we recommend that you have travel insurance. By making a booking, you confirm that you have made your own assessment of the risks of the activities and services in which you participate in relation to your booking and of any insurance arrangements that may be required in connection with them. You further acknowledge and agree that the equipment and services to which your booking relates are being provided by CPC - Taupo to you and that Leap has no involvement in (and is not responsible for oversight, monitoring or risk assessment of) such equipment or services or any related matters other than with respect to the administration of your booking. Accordingly, you agree that Leap shall have no responsibility or liability whatsoever to you or any other person in connection with activities or services or any related matters, including without limitation, for sickness, injury, death, damage, loss, accident or delay which may be occasioned, either directly or indirectly, by reason of any defect in any equipment, vehicle or vessel, by weather, by any other cause, or through any acts or omissions (including, without limitation, wilful default, negligence or misconduct) of the equipment provider CPC - Taupo or any other company, entity or person.

Other You have made a booking with CP Cycles Limited. This company/entity/individual trades as CPC - Taupo.
