Taranaki is well-renown for spectacular natural sights. From our picturesque mountain to award-winning gardens, you are sure to fall in love with our region.

Today you will explore the stunning Pukeiti Gardens. Experience the explosion of colour amongst hundreds of rhododendrons, azaleas and other exotic flowers against a lush backdrop of forested volcanic ranges, mountain streams and birdsong. With tracks to suit explorers of all abilities you can choose to be as active or as relaxed as you feel.

From here we move to Tupare Gardens. Tūpare’s beautifully restored garden and home is a joy to spend time at. Sculpted from a hillside overlooking the Waiwhakaiho River, this is a premier landscaped garden. (End of Half Day Tour)

We finish our day at the famous Pukekura Park, a inner city haven of tranquility – a botanical wonder that was first opened in 1876. Often described as the jewel in New Plymouth’s crown, Pukekura Park covers 52ha (128 acres) right in the heart of the city and is one of New Zealand’s premier botanical gardens. The park has an international Green Flag award and is a Garden of National Significance. The park contains a diverse range of native and exotic plants. Various easy walking trails cross the park and meander along the lake sides, taking in the many features of the park.

We end our tour at the popular Tea House on the Lake, which has been situated on the main lake of Pukekura Park since the 1930s before you are dropped back to your hotel.
